The Renaissance Market Towns Programme (RMT) grew out of the lessons gained during the Market Towns Initiative and the experiences of the Urban Renaissance Programme.

Launched in July 2002, RMT is a pioneering 10-year plan to support sustainable rural towns in Yorkshire and Humber. As one of Yorkshire Forward's flagship projects, RMT aims to ensure that the regions "rural capitals" are places where people want and are able to live, work, invest and visit.

We have worked on programmes in the Colne and Calder valleys, Skipton and the Dearne settlements of Thurnscoe, Bolton on Dearne and Goldthorpe.
