Stephen Feber was the Director of Quarry Bank Mill for six years between 1989 and 1995. In that time all the galleries were re-developed.
Quarry Bank Mill is one of the National Trust’s leading properties and a working textile mill.
The Mill specialises in working demonstrations of industrial processes and demonstrates the cotton textile process form bale to finished article. It pioneered living history interpretation in historic buildings, through work at the Apprentice House.
The Mill also has special relevance to the interpretation of industrialisation and particularly to energy use, being a transitional site between water power and steam power.
