Eureka!
I was Development Director of Eureka! between 1984-1989.

Eureka! was the first children’s museum in the UK. It has been a significant contribution to the regeneration of Halifax.

I was responsible for:
  • Defining and developing the concept of an interactive children’s centre (then a new concept in the UK)
  • Taking the project to the Core Foundation to raise the first £5 million (subsequently extended to £7 million)
  • Undertaking development appraisals for sites and buildings
  • Developing the scheme design for the exhibition
  • Creating the detailed exhibition database, including the exhibit transactions analysis
  • Creating business, staffing and marketing plans
  • Developing the Eureka! logo with Pentagram
  • Forming the charity with SJ Berwin
