Armley Mills Industrial Museum sits between the Leeds - Liverpool canal and the River Aire. The building complex spans many of the key areas of the early industrial revolution originally powered by water and then by steam, it benefited from both the canal and rail systems for delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
The current museum covers many aspects of Leeds' industrial and commercial past but visitor numbers are low and the buildings and collections require substantial refurbishment.
We are working with Jacobs who are retained by Leeds City Council under a Strategic Design Alliance. We are carrying out a feasibility study to provide a series of options for the museum's cultural and commercial development. This includes a collections review, spatial analysis, development appraisal and a headline business plan. 3D modelling is used for spatial analysis.
